In Exodus 3:13, Moses asks the God of the universe His name, and God replies with THE ANSWER, “I AM WHO I AM.’ God’s RESPONSE was the fullness of the verb form ‘to be,” which means more than just “I AM.” God was also conveying that HE WAS and FOREVER WILL BE. Interpretation of the ancient Hebrew language (the original language of the Old Testament) tells us that these words also indicate an “active” existence. God was SAYING, “I not only exist, but I am actively working and moving.” God was giving Moses more than His name hERE. He was giving Him the meaning of His name. Maybe that’s because He knew that’s what Moses and his people needed to know most. Maybe that’s what you and I and the girls in our lives need to know too. THAT's WHY we’re using this series to explore God’s name and discover how it gives THE SECURITY, confidence, & courage to be who He made us to be.
